The Fools Journey by Mary Chase

I started this book a couple days ago and I haven't been able to put it down! The story is exciting and the writing style draws a person in. I really like the use of Tarot in the book, I feel it give it the respect that the Tarot deserves.

Land Of Painted Caves by Jean Auel

So far the one thing that I would love to happen in the book has not. I really hope Ayla is able to see her half clan son that she had in the first book. I'm not the only that wants this to happen, my father wants this also. My father could not get past the first few chapters, for him there was just to much detail. He told me when he let me borrow the book, all he wants to know is if Ayla sees her son again. So here's to hoping......

The Land of Painted Caves by Jean M Auel

The caves fell into a mob mentality and beat two of the three men to death that were causing so much trouble and hurting people. The spiritual leaders decided to place the bodies of the two dead on a hill top, exposed to the elements for the  scavengers to have. I'm having conflicted thoughts and feelings about that, yes they hurt a lot of people and I don't think that they deserve to be buried on sacred ground. But to leave them for the scavengers, I don't know.

"The Land Of Painted Caves" by Jean M. Auel.

"The Land Of Painted Caves" by Jean M. Auel.
1/19/2013
The beginning of the book is very detailed, almost to the point of excess. The subject matter is not as exciting as the previous books. Ayla is settling in to life with her mate and his people also being a mother and a Zelandoni. I think part one is more domestic and less nomadic in nature, which is not as exciting as the other books in the series.
"The Earth's Children" series, from the first book "Clan Of The Cave Bear" , had a large impact on me. The book resonated on a spiritual and emotional level and this has helped allot of positive changes happen. The entire series is a wonderful spiritual journey.

The Land Of Painted Caves by Jean M. Auel

The Land Of Painted Caves by Jean M. Auel is the latest book in the Earth's Children series. This book seemed to start much slower for me. There is a lot of detail about the surroundings, landscape and cave drawings. There is a lot of information on the "Zelandoni" which are the healers and spiritual leaders/guides of the Zelandonii people.

There were three men that have causing a lot of trouble for the people in the area of the First Cave and the Most Sacred Site. Ayla and Jondalar caught them when they tried to attack Ayla. They took them to the first cave where "Zelandoni" decided that every person in the caves that these people have hurt need to be in the the decision making process and agree on what their punishment should be. The three men have murdered, raped, stolen and terrorized these poor people. The leader of the three "bad men" attacked Ayla, put a chord to her throat in order to try to escape. He had thought that Jondalar was a gentle giant. He was very wrong. Jondalar in two steps made it to the man punched him once and broke his nose. This triggered a mob that beat two of them to death, and one of them is clinging to life.
